What else is special about our PROPS program? Studies have shown that when a dollar is spent at a locally-owned business, nearly 50% of it stays local and recirculates in the local economy (compared to 15% – 25% if you shop at large national chain stores). Your dollar is a powerful economic tool for your community!

September 1 - 14, 2021 - Green Garden Mama
We are excited to be partnering with Green Garden Mama, owned by Carrie Khoury (PFC Owner #995). Located in Lombard, IL, Green Garden Mama offers local, sustainably grown flowers. Flowers in retail stores are often grown out of the country on large scale farms that use herbicides and pesticides. Not only do Green Garden Mama flowers travel the shortest distance from the flower bed to your table, but they are also grown organically in compost-enriched dirt.
What better way to celebrate, show someone you care, or simply to add outdoor beauty into your everyday life than with a bouquet of fresh cut flowers! From September 1 through September 14, all Prairie Food Co-op Owners will receive a 20% discount on any order. Each bouquet is customizable and will include the flowers in bloom at the time of the order. To order, email Carrie and she will work with you to customize your order. November 2016 - Walnut Acres Family Farm
Robin and Dave Jameson of Walnut Acres Family Farm have been early Owners and supporters of Prairie Food Co-op so we are happy to announce that they have partnered with us again to bring our Owners another great Prairie Owner Perks (PROPs).
